First they received a hack from "Microsoft" on his moms computer. The hack instructed them to call "Microsoft's" support number. He was then told a charge had been placed on his direct express credit card for $5,400 and would be completed within 2-3 hours unless he entered the same amount into the QR code provided. My computer was hacked (I don't know how) last month but I removed the virus quickly and changed my password. It seems like a ransomware was supposed to activate today but couldn't because the virus is already deleted. I was sent my old passwords + an old screenshot of my PC from last month.

I received an email from scammer. He has my personal data and claim that he hacked my laptop and got screenshots from the laptop camera and addresses of everybody from address book. Initial claim – to sent him ransom for not sending incriminating photos to everyone from address book. Means of payment – BTC. P.S. Very lame scheme, but one way or another, they could find someone who will fall for it.
